In Belarus first census data began to arrive in the counting stations, told RIA Novosti on Wednesday the Belarusian statistical committee.

Conducting nationwide census assigned to the state statistics authorities and republican bodies of state administration, which carry out a census of individual categories of the population. To participate in the event attracted some 48 thousand temporary census staff, including 38,2 thousand scribes, who will directly carry out a survey of the population. Each census taker will have a certificate that is protected against forgery and signed by the chairman of the District, the city executive committee or the head of district administration in Minsk, and special insignia - an icon and a portfolio, custom-made and have a logo census.
The territory of the country formed 648 census, 6 326 instructors and 31 846 enumeration districts. In addition, will be more than 3 thousand fixed enumeration areas. In Belstat logo noted that thanks to new technologies in the census in Belarus this year will be involved in eight times more people than in 1999.
“In the current census campaign will be applied advanced method of processing materials. All the questionnaires will be scanned and than received to the specially created for that purpose computing center,” - told Belstat.
Respondents are citizens of Belarus, foreign citizens and stateless persons permanently or temporarily residing or temporarily staying in the country, as well as Borussia citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons residing permanently in the republic, at the time of account people temporarily in foreign countries.
Not subject to the census, foreign nationals who are managers and staff of diplomatic missions, consular and other representatives of foreign states, representatives of international organizations in the Republic of Belarus and their family members have the privileges and immunities under international treaties.
In accordance with international recommendations and national practice, respondents are not in the country, 1 year or more shall be treated as long-term migrants and a permanent population of the country are not included. If the respondent left for up to 1 year, then it is overwritten with a note on temporary absence. Personal information about respondents, missing the place of residence during the period of the census, reported by other members of their families.
Personal data on the census is confidential, shall not be disclosed for 75 years and are used only for statistical purposes.
The first preliminary results of the census will be known by February 2010.
