Belarus wants to guard the border with the EU
Belarus is interested in connecting to the working group on integrated border management in the framework of the European program “Eastern Partnership”. The statement was made on September 29 in Minsk, the Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov
According to him, one of the priorities of the participation of Belarus in Eastern Partnership is a collaboration in visa and migration areas. Martynov noted that the first working group meeting of the Eastern Partnership for integrated border management, which will be held in October this year in Odessa, Minsk expects an open and productive exchange of views on migration and to prevent cross-border crime. “We consider the chairmanship of the working group as an important factor in increasing interaction with neighbors and more distant states,” - quoted Martynov BelaPAN.

According to the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the cooperation of Belarus with the European Union in the field of border security is really important. Belarus confirms its status on the one hand, a bridge for the legal transit, on the other hand - a reliable barrier to cross-border crime, said Sergei Martynov.
